Jogjakarta Community School, also known as JCS, is located in the north of Jogjakarta it the beautiful region of Sleman.
The school was established in 2012 by a group of dedicated parents who wanted to establish an international school within Jogja. As its name suggests, JCS prides itself on the community spirit that fills the school; from the students, their parents, the teaching staff and the local community.
The school is able to offer small class sizes ensuring each child is given the attention to focus on developing his/her academic, physical, social and emotional skills.
The school delivers the British curriculum and children can join pre-school from the age of 3, through to taking their Cambridge examinations when they are in the secondary school.
The school is set in its own grounds with beautiful green playing areas for children to play and explore. JCS strives to reduce its environmental impact and from the school’s inception it has adopted many initiatives to support this. The school is working towards its Eco Accreditation status and environmental practices are built into the daily routines for children, staff and parents alike.
JCS is an excellent option for parents looking for an English speaking school. The British
Curriculum is widely recognised around the world, as too are the examinations which are assessed through Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). The curriculum and the qualifications are recognised by universities in many countries and give our children the opportunity to become international students and global citizens.
JCS is a growing school made up of expatriate and Indonesian families. Currently there are 13 different nationalities including British, Korean, Japanese, Australian, New Zealand, German, Dutch and Argentinian.
The tuition fees start from $160 (US) per month for pre-school. Further details about admissions can be found on the school website.
